My installations are often immersive, ritual-infused environments that explore energy, symbolism, and transformation. I facilitated a pop-up installation at a local co-working studio where participants were able to play their studio ficus through Garageband.
In a two-part series at The White Room in Nanaimo, I created an altar layered with found and handmade objects, silkscreen prints, and a large wand acquired on the day I was proposed to, inviting reflection on personal and collective ritual.
The second part expanded into thirty 30"x30" silkscreen tapestry prints, hanging throughout the space in a piece entitled Transmutation of Negative Energy, suggesting the capacity of the symbols to filter and cleanse energies released during a live crystal bowl performance.
My graduate project combined the print and mask from The Altar. As well as another print that mirrored my sculpture, mimicking and reflecting the energy I imagined it gave off, accompanied by a 4 hr. crystal singing bowl set. While my first textile installation featured hand-dyed viscose drapery and a geometric drawing of pyrite. Emphasizing materiality through hand crafts, vibration, and the interplay between form and the unseen.
